More Than a Photo Album: What is a "Legacy Project"?

We all share a common fear: Will I be forgotten?

As people approach the end of life, they often feel a frantic need to pass down their wisdom, their stories, and their love. But they often lack the energy or the focus to organize it.

This is the heart of the Legacy Project.

A Legacy Project is a collaborative effort between the Doula, the client, and the family to create a "keepsake option for generations to view". It is a tangible proof of life.

Ideas We Can Help You Execute:

  • The Recipe Box: Did Grandma have a famous peach cobbler? We can help her dictate the recipe (and the story behind it) to be printed and framed for her grandchildren.

  • Letters to the Future: We can help a parent write letters for their children’s future milestones—graduation, marriage, or the birth of their own children.

  • The Soundtrack of a Life: Curating a playlist of songs that defined different eras of their life, with notes on why each song matters.

These projects do two things: they give the dying person a sense of purpose and productivity in their final days, and they give the family a treasure "tailored to them" that will last forever.
